The Confederation of Professional Golf’s prestigious Christer Lindberg Bowl has been awarded to former Ryder Cup Match Director Edward Kitson in recognition of his enormous behind-the-scenes impact upon the development of the Ryder Cup across a career spanning 15 renewals of the biannual matches.

Sir Michael Bonallack, Britain’s most successful amateur golfer of the post-war era, and one of golf’s most pre-eminent administrators, passed away on September 26 in St Andrews, Scotland at the age of 88. 

Norman Wood, a PGA Professional who defeated Lee Trevino in the 1975 Ryder Cup, has passed away at the age of 76 following a short illness.
