7.52am 5th July 2010 - Sponsorship & Events

The Scottish family-owned motoring group, which has more than 145 branches throughout the UK, will provide a fleet of vehicles and drivers to transport the players to Carnoustie for the 24th edition of the Championship from July 22-25.

Arnold Clark was also the Official Courtesy Car to The Senior Open Championship at Muirfield in 2007 and Royal Troon Golf Club in 2008.

The company, which was founded by Arnold Clark in 1954, employs more than 8,000 staff and has an annual turnover of more than £2 billion.

Gavin Forbes, Group Operations Manager of Arnold Clark said “As in previous years we are delighted to be associated with such a prestigious championship. Throughout the year our vehicle rental division provides many cars, mpv’s and minibuses to golfing visitors to Scotland. On this occasion we look forward to providing transportation to an incredible field that includes many of the most famous and recognised golfing superstars from throughout the world.”

Andy Stubbs, Managing Director of the European Senior Tour said on behalf of The 2010 Senior Open Championship: “We are delighted to once again have the support of Arnold Clark in providing the courtesy car service to our players and VIPs. Arnold Clark provided a superb service at Muirfield and Royal Troon – one that was a key component to the logistical organisation of the Championship – and I’m sure everyone will appreciate it again at Carnoustie.”

Loren Roberts will defend the title he won at Sunningdale last year when he takes on a field of golfing icons including Sir Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, Sandy Lyle, Corey Pavin, Gary Player, Sam Torrance, Tom Watson and Ian Woosnam.

Tickets remain on sale at a discounted rate to see the line up of star players compete in The Senior Open Championship, while hospitality packages at Carnoustie Hotel are also available from www.senioropengolf.com or by calling +44 (0) 800 023 2557.

Discounted rate tickets are available until Sunday July 11 at £16.50 for a one day ticket and £60 for a season ticket which compares with £25 and £70 respectively on the gate. In addition, a further 10% discount is available to MasterCard holders.
