Paul Lawrie, the 1999 Open Champion, Ryder Cup winner and eight-time European Tour champion, has been appointed to the Board of the European Tour group as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

Three of England’s finest golf courses have been named as venues hosting qualifying events for this year's Senior Open, with an overseas qualifier set to take place in the United States for the first time.

David Howell has been appointed to the Board of the European Tour with immediate effect.
