GolfStar Europe appoints new CEO

Northern Europe's largest multi-course operator hires from within for CEO role.

Caddies Group has appointed Stefan Brikell as the new Chief Executive Officer of GolfStar Europe, Northern Europe’s largest multi-course operator.

With more than 30 years of experience in the golf, travel, and hospitality industries, Brikell has been tasked with driving the company’s continued expansion in the European market.

Tony Trigell, Group CEO of Caddies Group, said: “Stefan brings a unique combination of deep industry expertise, extensive experience through both challenging and successful periods, and a strong focus on customer experience, making him ideally suited to lead GolfStar Europe into its next phase of development. His commercial acumen, digital competence, and proven leadership will play a key role in strengthening our market position in the Nordic region and across Europe.”

Brikell most recently served as GolfStar’s Loyalty Manager and CEO of GolfStar Spain. Since 2012, he has been a central force in strengthening the brand, driving the digitalisation of member communications, and developing loyalty programmes. He also brings extensive experience from the travel and events industries and has held operational responsibility for several successful golf facilities in both Sweden and across Europe.

Speaking about his new role, Brikell said: “It is with great humility and enthusiasm that I take on the role as CEO of GolfStar Europe. Golf is facing both opportunities and challenges, and I truly look forward to working together with our fantastic teams in Sweden, Finland, and Spain to create growth and further develop GolfStar into Europe’s most attractive golf operator for both course owners and golfers.”
