England Deaf Golf, in partnership Knutsford-based The Golf Group, is hosting a free event to bring Cheshire’s deaf community together to enjoy and experience golf.

The biennial World Deaf Golf Championships, organised by England Deaf Golf on behalf of the World Deaf Golf Federation, will take place over nine days from August 7-15 and is set to attract more than 120 amateur golfers from 21 nations. The tournament, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary next year, will see a men’s and women’s individual champion being crowned, as well as a team tournament

The new star in the world of disabled golf is a 14 year-old from Rotherham called Lewis Eccles
