The English Golf Union in partnership with Marsh Sports Group and Royal SunAlliance has announced that the fourth year of their Junior Club Coaching Programme has been the most successful to date.
The aim of the coaching programme is to encourage golf clubs to open up more opportunities for juniors, both boys and girls and it is administered as part of the England Junior Development Plan.
All golf clubs affiliated to the EGU have been invited to apply for the grant aid and so far a record 512 clubs have applied with nearly half of those clubs already returned their coaching registration forms. Just over 4,500 juniors have been coached so far this year. Since the programme started over 1,000 affiliated golf clubs have applied for the grant aid and 35,000 children have benefited from the coaching funded by Marsh Sports Group and Royal SunAlliance.
Golf clubs who have not yet applied still have the opportunity to do so either by downloading the application form from the junior section of the EGU website www.englishgolfunion.org or alternatively by contacting the EGU’s Golf Development Department on 01526 354500.
The English Golf Union has thanked all clubs who have supported the Junior Club Coaching Programme and hopes that they continue to encourage junior golf within their clubs.
