The venue formerly known as Magnolia Park Hotel and Golf Club in Buckinghamshire is to re-open in July under a new name and new ownership.

The club, which is located near the M40 between Bicester and Oxford, first opened in 1999 and boasts an 18-hole championship course designed by Jonathan Gaunt, was permanently closed in May 2020 during the early months of the pandemic. The on-site 40-bedroom Best Western Plus hotel had to remain shut during this period, but it never re-opened after Covid restrictions were lifted and the club has been closed for the past six years.

The site, which has been renamed Bernwood Park Hotel, has been bought by Bespoke Hotels, the UK’s largest independent hotel group, which is currently constructing a brand new 100-bedroom hotel, along with a spa and wellness centre, which is due open this summer.

The Bernwood Park Hotel will feature 100 bedrooms and a spa and wellness centre

The par-73, 6,946-yard golf course is also being bought back to life, with members and visitors having access to a full range of facilities, including a clubhouse, bar and changing facilities.

Bespoke Hotels currently manages a small number of hotels on or adjacent to golf courses, including Carnoustie Golf Hotel in Fife, Cally Palace in Dumfries & Galloway, and Coulsdon Manor Hotel & Golf Club in Surrey.

Founded in 2000, the company now operates more than 120 properties across the world, and offers luxury stays, wedding venues and office conference spaces.
