Golf Industry News - Macmillan Cancer Support

Isaac Rowlands, an Assistant PGA Professional at The Grove in Hertfordshire, will be temporarily leaving behind his day job next year to seek a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for the world's longest golf marathon.

Members of the Burhill Group team have successfully completing a 428km bike ride from Lingfield in the UK to Rotterdam in the Netherlands, raising more than £6,000 for Prostate Cancer UK and Macmillan Cancer Support.

The quartet - Rob Goodman, 46, Paul Hillaby, 47, Neil Spratt, 45, and Pat Howdle, 55, who are all based in the Yorkshire region - wanted to achieve something beyond the ordinary, by playing an astonishing eight rounds - and, despite four-inch blisters and a walk of a hugely impressive 32 miles, they finished eight rounds of golf at Aldwark Manor, in York, in just 15 hours and 16 minutes
