Golf Industry News - John Cockayne

John Cockayne describes how inland South Africa virtually empties out through December, as South Africans make their way ‘home’ for the year-end vacations, or to the sea!  Everything is packed, including the golf courses, which take a veritable ‘pounding’ between the beginning of December, and the end of the first week in January.

John Cockayne and family have ‘semigrated’ to the sub-tropical south coast of KwaZulu-Natal and will spend the next six months by the Indian Ocean to see if the move should become permanent. Among the things that they expect to enjoy are the many and varied races for which the province is famous.

This month, the Southern Hemisphere regions see a confluence of the summer holidays’ break, annual work vacations, school holidays, and that Christian festival – Christmas - writes John Cockayne
