The owner of the site for a proposed golf resort capable of hosting the Ryder Cup and a major property development at Hulton Park in Bolton is set to undertake 'limited work' on the £240m project before planning permission runs out in nine months’ time. 

A planning inspector has approved plans for a new golf course and 1,036 homes on at a country park in Bolton.

A public enquiry into plans to develop Bolton's Hulton Park into a golf and leisure venue capable of hosting a future Ryder Cup begins this week.
