Golf Industry News - Golf Rounds Played Report

Sporting Insights has placed the blame on bad weather and England’s run in the European Championships for the 5% drop in the number of rounds of golf played in Q2 in Great Britain compared to 2023's figures for the same period.

Strong May and June playing figures prompted the average number of rounds played per course in Great Britain to rise by 4% in Q2 compared to the same period in 2022, according to the figures from The R&A’s latest global participation research, conducted by Sporting Insights.

The golf boom shows no immediate signs of levelling off in Great Britain, according to the latest data from Sporting Insights, with 10% more rounds of golf played in the first nine months of 2022 than in the equivalent period in 2021.
