A range of year-round golfing holidays and short breaks are announced this week by Desert Springs, Europe’s only international award-winning luxury family resort and championship desert golf course in the Almanzora region of Almeria in south-east Spain.

Summer Golf Escapes ranging from three-nights to a week are available this year from June to September at prices which start at £144 per person.

The price includes two rounds of golf on the 72 par 18-hole USGA Indiana golf course designed by former Great Britain and Ireland Golf Team Captain Peter McEvoy, and accommodation in a four-star hotel close to the resort.

Other packages available include a seven-night stay in a self-catering apartment at Desert Springs on a bed-and-breakfast basis for £421. The price includes four rounds of golf in the resort, with a golf buggy provided, as well as a round on the golf course at the Valle Del Este resort at nearby Vera.

Prices exclude flights and transfers. Budget airlines fly from many UK airports to three airports within easy reach of Desert Springs and hire cars and taxis are readily available.

Bookings also are being taken now for Winter Golf Escapes from October to December when daily temperatures of between 16C (60F) and 30C (86F) contrast with the winter weather in the UK.
