The European Golf Course Owners Association (EGCOA) has hosted its annual event in Lisbon this week under the title ‘Back to Basics, Finding and Binding’.
GolfSwitch is a sponsor of this event and already adheres to the Best Practice Guidelines regarding Third Party Tee Time Resellers. During the conference, GolfSwitch’s European Director Jo Maes took part in a panel discussion about Third Party Distribution debating the dangers and benefits to the courses.
“One of this year’s topics is ‘Intelligent Pricing’ and we are particularly delighted to see this as we have worked hard to find a Pricing Strategy Solutions to make the course’s life easier,” said Jo. “We believe we found that in the GolfSwitch Yield Management System that connects directly to the tee sheet. This allows golf courses to effectively and dynamically yield tee time blocks ‘on the fly’ as the GolfSwitch engine looks at availability and demand in real time. Set the rules and the price changes accordingly.
“The role of third party tee time resellers has always been a bit contentious and there are obviously examples of mismanagement of tee times. I can only speak for GolfSwitch and our company continues to value the position of the golf course operator in all its activities. We are so much more than a third party reseller. Our in -house developed booking software solutions have moved golf courses into the 21st century by providing their golfers an online booking option available through their website and mobile device. Allowing available inventory to be spread over the GolfSwitch distribution channel just increases exposure for the course while maintaining price integrity and giving up a small percentage in return for this marketing power.”
GolfSwitch has cemented itself as a world leader in online tee time technology and works very much with the courses allowing them to avail of engines that suit their individual needs.
