Golf ball brand Volvik made its mark on the UK senior professional golf scene with the inaugural Volvik Challenge at The Leatherhead Club, part of The Masters Pro Golf Tour.
In a unique format designed to put the spotlight firmly on golf ball performance, every professional in the field competed with the same golf ball – the Volvik Condor X – providing a level playing field for the players and a real-world test of Volvik’s Tour-level performance.
The event, which took place at the Surrey club on October 4, produced a stellar winning performance from Andrew Oldcorn, who carded a superb 66 to take the inaugural Volvik Challenge title. Oldcorn’s round featured an exceptional back nine of just 30.
The Volvik Challenge represented an valuable opportunity for Volvik to showcase the Condor X in a competitive senior professional environment, with the same-ball concept providing a an insight into how the ball performs in the hands of experienced tournament players.

The Masters Pro Golf Tour is open to professional golfers aged 50 and over from the UK and overseas, alongside eligible senior amateur golfers, and stages a programme of competitive events at venues across the UK.

Oldcorn was impressed with the performance of the Condor X, with his winning round providing an ideal demonstration of the ball’s capabilities under tournament conditions.
“I was delighted to win the first Volvik Challenge and particularly pleased with how the Condor X performed throughout the round,” he said. “The ball gave me the confidence I needed from tee to green and in my short game, and I was able to put together a really good score to secure victory.”
The Condor X is part of Volvik’s Tour Performance range, designed to deliver a combination of distance, control and feel for golfers with faster swing speeds. The four-piece construction features a urethane cover and 95 compression, offering a performance profile suited to competitive players.
