McLaren to launch new equipment brand

Leading motorsport company announces move into the golf equipment market

McLaren, winner of the last two Formula 1 constructors’ championships and the home team of reigning F1 world champion Lando Norris, is expanding its sporting interests with a launch into the golf equipment business.

McLaren Golf, which is set to unveil its first products at the end of April, will unite the shared high‑performance philosophy of McLaren Racing and McLaren Automotive, delivering a new benchmark for golf equipment, engineered to McLaren’s exacting standards.

This launch will extend McLaren’s decades of experience in elite motorsport and supercar engineering into a new category, led by a dedicated team of golf-industry experts and world-class engineering minds.

Neil Howie, CEO of McLaren Golf, said: “McLaren Golf is a high-end, engineering-led venture which goes beyond the equipment. We’re building a brand grounded in McLaren’s high-performance DNA, and embedding it in a new sporting arena.”

Howie, who stepped away from his role as president and managing director of Callaway Golf’s EMEA operations at the end of 2024, added: “We’ve hired some of the best minds in engineering and combined them with leading figures from the golf world to create an innovation-led company that pushes the limits of what golfers can expect from their equipment. We can’t wait to see our ambition come to life on the course this year.”

Nick Collins, CEO of McLaren Automotive, said: “McLaren has always turned technical excellence into extraordinary experiences. We’re bringing that same philosophy and applying it to our new venture, McLaren Golf. We’re creating equipment that is beautifully engineered, meticulously refined and unmistakably McLaren.”

Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, said: “At McLaren Racing, we’re driven by performance and the pursuit of excellence in everything we do. Taking our benchmark‑setting engineering standards from the grid to the golf course feels like a natural step, and one that opens the McLaren brand to a new audience.”

The full launch of McLaren Golf and its first products will begin on April 29.
