Hounslow Heath Golf Course opened in 1979. The golf course, which occupies a site of approximately 47 hectares (117 acres), was designed by Fraser Middleton and
extends to 5,901 yards (par 69). Planning permission has been granted for the redevelopment of the central clubhouse facilities to include a 950 sq. m. (10,225 sq. ft.) clubhouse, 25 bay golf driving range and a separate golf shop, along with replacement greenkeepers’ facilities.
The London Borough of Hounslow’s principal objective is for the site to be operated at no cost to the Council. Secondary objectives include a desire to secure the redevelopment of the property to increase access to and participation in golf; to provide a clubhouse and associated food and beverage facilities for use of golfers and other clientele; to attract complimentary leisure uses to the property; to ensure that the business is efficiently operated to provide a sustainable leisure business for the benefit of the LBH residents; and to ensure the maintenance of any non-golf areas to protect and enhance the natural environment and ecological character of the area.
