The Golf Show Group appoints new member to management team

Alan Kimber

Alan Kimber joins the team as the new Sales Manager from December, working primarily on the upcoming National Golf Show at the NEC in April and the London Golf Show atEarls Courtin November 2012.

Kimber’s role will be to head the stand and sponsorship sales for the show and to explore and monetise new commercial opportunities. His immediate task will be to develop strong relationships with existing and new exhibiting partners and sponsors. In addition, he will work closely with Managing Director,Damian Benstead, to secure a Title Sponsor for the National and London Golf Shows.

Kimber brings with him a wealth of sports sponsorship and sales experience and has previously worked with several football clubs in events and publishing, including Arsenal,Liverpooland Portsmouth Football Club.

He has had considerable experience of working with national and international brands and with both agencies and clients directly. He has also operated with a number of other companies within the sport and lifestyle marketplaces.

Damian Benstead, Managing Director of The Golf Show Group said “We are thrilled Alan has agreed to join the team. He will give us a real focus for our sales operation over the coming weeks and months in the run up to the National Show. We believe he will add new thinking across a number of disciplines and we look forward to working with him.”

He went on to say “In August 2011 we were joined by Media Consultant Ian Mullins, who has made a huge difference to our marketing approach and has been working with us to develop our relationships with media owners and our show partners. With Alan on board, this now completes what we believe is a very strong team to take the National and London Golf Shows forward!”
