Peter Lowery takes over the reins at Sandiway Golf Club, one of Cheshire’s premier clubs.

Peter Lowery

With over 500 active playing members he hopes he will be able to move the club to an even higher standard of excellence, customer service and course condition using his 38 years of experience and knowledge in the golf industry.

Sandiway Golf Club, established in 1920 is a very highly-rated 18-hole course set in mixed heath and woodland and blessed with wonderful natural drainage due to its sandy substrate. It was originally designed by Ted Ray, the first Ryder Cup Captain. In 1925, Harry Colt was commissioned to further the development and more recently, in 1955 the 2nd, 3rd and 4th holes were relocated to a design of Fred Hawtree.

Previously at Weston-super-Mare Golf Club and various clubs around Europe and with four years at IMG and a spell at Sunningdale, Peter is more than qualified to move Sandiway to even greater heights.

He says, “Although the job will have its challenges, with the great team already in placemy goal is to move the club to the next level and not to rest on its laurels.”
