Ladies European Tour CEO to step down

4.20pm 30th June 2025 - People & Jobs

Ladies European Tour Chief Executive Officer Alexandra Armas is to step down from the role this autumn after a six-year tenure.

Armas, who has led the Tour since 2020, marking a period of significant growth, increased visibility, and strategic global collaboration in women’s professional golf, will leave on October 1. No reason has been given for her departure.

Under Armas’ leadership, the LET has experienced a remarkable transformation. Prize funds have more than doubled during her tenure, offering greater opportunities and financial rewards to players and reinforcing the Tour’s commitment to helping women and girls achieve their dreams as professional athletes. The number of tournaments on the LET calendar has also grown substantially, giving players more chances to compete and fans more opportunities to engage with world-class women’s golf across diverse global destinations.

A key milestone of Armas’ tenure has been the strengthening of the LET’s strategic alliances, including the ground-breaking joint venture with the LPGA Tour. This global collaboration has helped elevate women’s golf, creating a unified approach to growing the game and delivering value for players, partners, and fans.

“It has been an honour to serve as CEO of the Ladies European Tour and to contribute to the advancement of women’s golf,” said Armas, who hails from the Canary Islands in Spain, and played on the Ladies European Tour from 2001-2005. “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together – from expanding the schedule and prize funds to building a stronger, more sustainable future through international collaboration. I want to thank the players, partners, board members, and the exceptional team at the LET for their support, passion, and commitment.”

Commenting on Armas’ leadership, Liz Moore, Chair of the LPGA-LET Joint Venture Board of Directors, said: “Alex has been a transformative force for the LET and for women’s golf globally. Her leadership over the past six years has brought meaningful progress – not just in terms of increased purses and expanded playing opportunities – but in building a collaborative, international vision for women’s professional golf.  She’s helped shape the LPGA-LET Joint Venture and her legacy will be characterised by growth, inclusion, global ambition and deep care.  All of us on the Joint Venture Board are grateful for her leadership and commitment and wish her every success in the future.”

Marta Figueras Dotti, Chair of the LET Ltd Board, said: “Alex’s dedication to the LET and the women who compete on it has been extraordinary. She has led with courage, clarity, and care for the players and the broader golfing community. Her long-standing commitment to the LET – as a player, Executive Director and in her current role as CEO – has helped shape the modern identity of the LET. On behalf of the LET Board, I thank her for her outstanding service, and I look forward to seeing how she continues to inspire and support the game she loves.”

The Board has retained Elevate Talent to lead the search in identifying the LET’s next CEO, with details regarding Armas’s successor due to be announced later in the year.
