In search of the best teaching pro

12.10am 25th March 2004 - People

Golf Monthly magazine is launching a project to find the Top-50 golf coaches in the United Kingdom. In a bid to raise coaching standards the magazine is looking to identify those teachers who make the biggest difference to beginners, juniors, mid-handicappers and elite players.
All coaches are eligible but they must be nominated by a third party such as a pupil or fellow pro. The chosen ones will have a chance to write instructional articles for the magazine and there are no restrictions on coaches who work for rival publications.
This idea is based on the successful Top-100 Teachers list in Golf Magazine in the United States.
To nominate a pro, send 300 words by 16th April detailing their merits to Edward Craig, Top Coaches, Golf Monthly, Kings Reach Tower, Stamford Street, London SE1 9LS by April 16. Telephone 020 7261 7237 for more details.
