Seniors Tour support for Softspikes

10.00am 13th July 2001 - Management Topics

The European Seniors Tour will soon be a steel free zone judging from some recent research which shows that an amazing 95% of European Seniors Tour members are now using cleats as opposed to steel spikes in their golf shoes.

More and more members are starting to rely on cleats, not just for the traction they offer, but also for the extra comfort they provide. Players have also commented that in the last season or so it has been very noticeable that the greens have cut up much less than they used to. That’s generally attributed to the fact that most now use cleats rather than spikes.

The vast majority of those are Black Widow™ cleats by Softspikes®.

Usage figures on US Senior Tour are almost as high as on its counterpart in Europe.
