New Belgian golf course chooses Textron

12.15am 7th August 2000 - Course Development

Textron has been selected as the turf maintenance equipment supplier to the new Millennium Golfpark which opens in September at Paal-Beringen in Belgium. Co-owners, Manfred Dohmen and Theo Aerts, invited tenders for the contract and after various trials selected A Verbeke & Sons N.V., Textron’s Belgian distributor, to provide a complete range of equipment.

The 27-hole, 67 hectare golf complex, complete with driving range and practice area, is centrally located 75 km from Brussels, 50 km from Maastricht in the Netherlands and 60 km from Aachen in Germany. Construction began in May last year and facilities will include a restaurant, bar, brasserie and, intriguingly, a Havana and Whisky lounge.

The equipment, delivered to the complex recently for the final growing-in phase, includes products from across the Textron brands. Eddy Verbeke, Managing Director, commented, “We were selected by the Millennium Golfpark because we could supply a complete range of equipment that suited all of their requirements. Also our level of after sales support and Textron’s training package were major factors in securing the contract.”
