The Toro Company, one of the world’s leading providers of irrigation and turf maintenance equipment, has signed a new five year agreement as Preferred Supplier to The European Tour.
Toro will support The European Tour’s agronomy team at tournaments on the Tour’s International Schedule, Seniors Tour and Challenge Tour until the end of the 2011 season, providing essential equipment to assist in the preparation of courses to sustain 72-hole golf tournaments in widely differing climates the world over.
Founded 93 years ago in response to customer demand, Toro has enjoyed a strong and successful relationship with the Tour since 2000. During that period, Toro has supplied the highest levels of service, showcasing its portfolio of world class turf care equipment and support, ensuring that courses are presented to players, promoters, sponsors and the public in the best possible condition.
Toro supplies and services many of the world’s leading golf resorts and through its relationship with the Tour is seeking to further consolidate its reputation as a brand leader in this sector.
Toro was also Official Provider of Irrigation and Turf Maintenance Equipment for The 2006 Ryder Cup at The K Club in Ireland and enjoys partnerships with future European Ryder Cup venues over the next decade.
Andy Brown, Toro’s European corporate accounts manager commented, “This partnership is very important to both Toro and The European Tour. As The Tour continues to expand around the globe we believe that Toro, with the professional commitment of our distributors, can help ensure that the highest standards of course preparation are maintained.”
David Garland, director of Tour operations for The European Tour, said, “Everyone associated with a tournament on The European Tour International Schedule expects the course preparation to be of the best possible condition and our agronomy team has worked closely with Toro to ensure that these high standards are achieved.
“We are delighted to renew our partnership with Toro, who provide the essential maintenance machinery and support services in this sector, and look forward to extending our strong, long standing relationship.”
