Bernhard and Company experienced a surge of new business at the 2013 San Diego Show last week.

Executive Chairman, Stephen Bernhard said, “We have been delighted by the level of new business and the numbers visiting our booth. The entire sales team have reported soaring interest in machines, our variety of purchase programmes and our new education and training.

“The new Dual Master has also been of great interest and definitely was felt to compliment the Express Dual and Anglemaster grinders that are the backbone of our business. We came to San Diego very confident of our market – we have a strong presence in US and a good reputation – but, as we all know, the market has been tough for the last four years.

“We have come away with a renewed confidence in a market that seems to be more stable now. Furthermore, we perceived a universally wider understanding on how sharp cutting equipment dramatically cuts down on the input costs of chemicals, water and labour. Everyone is searching for sustainability but getting our particular message across and changing old habits takes time. With our well established reputation for excellence, and customer case studies the results speak for themselves, the message has reached the decision makers.”

Business Development Managers for US, Gary Ray, Pac Asia, Steve Wilson, and Europe, Steve Nixon had this to say: “We are feeling very up beat about the show and the level of interest in our products from both new customers and existing friends and users.  There are clearly exciting new markets emerging too – and our reputation for product, customer care and training puts us in the forefront of this arena.  San Diego confirmed for us that we are doing the right things.”

COO Peter Wood said, “GIS has always been the most important showroom for us and this year has been a great big success and an indication of renewed market confidence.  San Diego is a good venue and a very well run show. Orders, bookings for demonstrations, interest in our education programmes, and our machine exchange/finance offers have all exceeded our expectations. We go back to the UK very pleased indeed.”
