Record sales at Nike Golf ‘Concept Store’

Nike Golf broke new ground in the retailing of its golf equipment with the opening of the first in a planned series of Nike Golf Concept Stores in the UK at JJB Playgolf on 5th April. The 500 square foot retail area was unveiled by Manchester United football star Teddy Sherringham. Sales of the entire Nike range were up 60% in the first week with the largest increase being in the ball category.

“There has been a phenomenal interest in the Nike Golf retail area since it opened,” said Martin Wild, director of golf for JJB, “and this is proven by the staggering rise in sales for Nike Golf equipment. Some of this may be attributed to the ‘Tiger Slam’ but our customers are delighted that they can get their hands on a wider range of quality Nike Golf equipment in an environment that they can interact with.”

The next Nike Golf Concept Store, a 1,200 square feet site within JJB World of Golf, Glasgow opens later this month and will be supported with a range of promotional activities including personal appearances from European Tour professionals and other sporting personalities
