PGA Enters Partnership With Smarter Golf Energy

Smarter Golf Energy, an energy service and solutions company tailored specifically to the golfing industry, is aiming to save PGA Members and golf clubs money after becoming an official PGA Partner.

Smarter Golf Energy (SGE) was founded by former PGA member Stuart Harris, who has combined his two areas of expertise and created SGE with the aim of providing both PGA members and their facilities with improved service and lower tariffs.

SGE has a vision to provide golf clubs with uncomplicated advice, demonstrate cost-saving recommendations, negotiate bespoke lower tariffs and assist with decarbonisation; moving locations from traditional fossil fuel-based contracts over to greener, renewable alternatives which were previously more expensive.

Harris said: “Energy is a time-consuming and confusing arena. With up to 150 different tariffs and products, how can golf club managers and owners feel confident that they are truly in control of their annual spend and future energy strategy?Without the correct advice and efficient energy reliant infrastructure, it is easy to waste valuable funds which could be invested elsewhere within the club.”

He added: “The PGA has relationships with many leading businesses in golf which it has recognised for their professionalism, experience and quality. My goal for SGE is to provide uncomplicated, honest advice to the golf industry, and to use the relationships with our suppliers to ensure the best value for PGA members and the locations with which they work.”

Harris is looking forward to the opportunity to engage with PGA Members and facility managers, adding: “I am happy to visit as many venues as possible to assist and formulate plans for each venue. The aim is to reduce costs, provide peace of mind and support initiatives that ensure the future success of the game.”

Commenting on the partnership, Liam Greasley, the PGA’s Executive Director for Property & Commercial, added: “We are delighted to announce this exciting partnership. Smarter Golf Energy understand our ambition to continually improve the lives of our Members. The success of this relationship will be in helping PGA Professionals save money and for golf facilities to realise greater efficiency. We very much look forward to working with Stuart and his team.”
