Motocaddy sold to US-based investment firm

Leading golf trolley brands acquisition by private equity firm Corbel Capital marks next phase of international expansion.

Leading electric golf trolley brand Motocaddy has been acquired by US-based private equity firm Corbel Capital Partners, marking the next chapter in the company’s continued growth and international expansion.

The acquisition follows a highly successful period under the ownership of London-based ETHOS Partners, during which Motocaddy has more than doubled both its revenue and EBITDA, reflecting the strength of its market position, continued investment in the business and growing global demand for its products.

Founded in 2004, Motocaddy has grown into a globally recognised brand, with an established presence across major international golf markets. Continued investment in product development, technology, sales infrastructure and distribution has helped drive sustained growth, particularly in the strategically important US market.

Under its new US ownership, Motocaddy will look to build on its strong foundations in the UK, Ireland and Europe, while pursuing further opportunities to accelerate growth in North America, Australia and other international markets.

The existing management team will remain in place, ensuring continuity and stability as the business enters its next phase of development. CEO John Helas and CFO Richard Inglis will also join the new board, providing leadership continuity and supporting the company’s long-term growth strategy.

Motocaddy is now under US ownership for the first time in its 22-year history

John Helas, CEO of Motocaddy, said: “We are extremely proud of what Motocaddy has achieved over recent years. The growth delivered during ETHOS Partners’ ownership is testament to the strength of our brand, our products and, importantly, our people.

“Corbel Capital Partners represents an exciting next step for the business. We have established a strong international platform, with significant opportunities still ahead of us. We look forward to working with Corbel to build on our success and take Motocaddy to even greater heights.

“Importantly, our existing management team remains firmly in place, providing the continuity and experience needed to deliver our ambitions while continuing to serve our customers and partners around the world.”

Christian Hostetter, Principal at Corbel, said: “Motocaddy is the clear category leader, with a loyal customer base, a strong pipeline of new products and significant room to grow in North America. We are delighted to partner with John and the team and look forward to supporting the business through its next phase of growth.”
