New Aquasoft Elite aims to be top waterproof

8.10pm 14th February 2005 - Corporate

Proquip, official weather wear supplier to the European Tour and 12 Ryder Cup teams, has launched an assault on the waterproofs mass market with a new suit that offers all the features and performance of a super-premium suit, but at a fraction of the price. Retailers are finding the Aquasoft Elite hard to resist..

Richard Head, ProQuip’s managing director and a leading clothing designer with 25 years’ experience producing waterproofs for top professionals and amateur golfers, said, “I wanted to make a waterproof that had all the features normally found in very expensive suits, but at a much more commercial price.

“Usually, at this sort of price, you get an average suit. But by using high-tech fabrics exclusive to ProQuip, plus advanced production techniques, we have been able to create a suit that I believe offers unbeatable value for money.

“The response from the limited number of retailers we have already shown the Aquasoft Elite to has been tremendous – we have had a 100% strike rate on sales. The feedback we are receiving is that this suit is everything golfers want and more in a product of this price.”

The Aquasoft Elite is part of the spring/summer 2005 introductions, which also include the new Ladies Ultralite suit, plus extensive Aquasoft Wind range.

For more than two decades ProQuip has been one of the world’s most innovative golf weatherwear companies. Countless tour professionals have chosen to wear ProQuip waterproof suits for their high-tech, lightweight fabrics and proven waterproof/breathable performance.

The company has recently appointed Landmark Media to handle its public relations. The deal is designed to boost ProQuip’s profile in specialist consumer and golf trade media, and help generate increased activity at retail level.

Richard Head said: “ProQuip is on a roll and it is essential that we continue to build momentum and tell golfers and retailers our news. For too long we have been guilty of not shouting our successes from the rooftops. But I believe by being pro-active in our public relations, it will benefit both our business and our customers’.”

Landmark Media director, former Golf World and Golf Weekly journalist, Gary Firkins, said, “ProQuip boasts a tremendously strong brand with an outstanding heritage and pedigree for producing innovative, high-performance weatherwear.

“I am confident that on the back of all the technological innovations, fresh styles and great value ProQuip’s latest products offer, we will be able to put ProQuip at the forefront of consumers’ minds and give them every reason they need to buy winning weatherwear.”
