4.01pm 22nd May 2015 - Corporate

americangolf garmin long driveIf you want to win bragging rights amongst your friends or test yourself against the best, then head to any of its 104 stores across the UK over the May bank holiday weekend (23rd -25th May) and tee it up on the state of the art launch monitors.

And if you’ve got some serious golfing muscles to flex, you could find yourself on the way to the American Golf Long Drive Final where an all-expenses paid trip to America to take part in the World Long Drive Championships 2016 is on the line.

“People who are successful on the Long Drive scene aren’t always from golfing backgrounds, so golfers should grab their friends, come in store and have a go,” explains Daniel Gathercole, Head of Marketing at American Golf.  “If you’re after the title of best in family, best among your friends or even best in the U.K. this is a great way to have some fun over the Bank Holiday.”

You will get three attempts to hit the ball as far as possible.  There will be products in store to borrow, or – just as long as it conforms to current regulations – bring your own club.  There are three categories:  Open (<45), Senior (45+) and Ladies.  There will be a vivoactive™ prize, courtesy of competition sponsor Garmin, for the winner at each store, but only the best three regional drivers in each category will be invited to the Grand Final this autumn.

The competition will really hot up once the finalists tee up to battle it out at the Grand Final where the prize is an all expenses trip, courtesy of American Golf and Garmin, to take part in a World Long Drive qualifying event in 2016.
