Major upgrade for Textron’s website

Textron Golf, Turf and Specialty Products have completed a major upgrading of their website, www.textronsolutions.com, with the introduction of a new online parts ordering facility. The new Parts Xpress section of the website contains all the information that a dealer needs to order parts online from Textron.

Textron manufacture and distribute a range of turf maintenance equipment for golf course operators and the municipal sector, together with golf cars, light utility vehicles and compact sweepers from their head office in Ipswich, Suffolk.

EMPARTweb is the most important link within the new section and is an example of Textron’s continuing investment in its parts division. EMPARTweb is the new online ordering system for the Textron dealer/distributor network and provides the facility for real-time viewing of stock availability across all of their manufacturing plants, in both the USA and the UK.

It holds Textron’s entire parts catalogues, which makes ordering and identifying parts easy. EMPARTweb provides not only a comprehensive list of parts available, for all brands and all models, but also diagrams of each part, how it should be fitted, and an order number. At the moment only dealers can order parts via this system but looking to the future, it will be possible for customers to place their orders direct to their local dealers.

The new Parts Xpress section, also incorporates a link to the 7am delivery service, which guarantees that parts ordered before 3.30pm the previous day will be at the dealers premises by 7am the following morning. Orders placed by 4.30 will arrive the next day before 12pm. Another new feature is the special offer link, which highlights monthly special part offers and promotions that are available from Textron’s dealers.

The Parts Xpress section on the website was developed by Mark Richards, a commercial trainee, who is currently on a year long placement with Textron, from Sheffield Hallam University where he is studying for a degree in business and technology.
