Specialist sports insurers, The JRW Group, have unveiled Charlotte Hughes, an experienced industry professionalas their new Head of Outbound Sales. Hughes joins the company from Carole Nash Insurance, experts in motorcycle, car and house insurance.

In her new role with The JRW Group, the clear industry-leaders in specialist golf insurance, Hughes will assume responsibility for generating new business and the retention of existing customers through the full-circle management of the complete Outbound Sales Team. The JRW Group has forged a formidable position in the niche golf industry through their market-leading brands, Golf Care and The Golfers Club, both of which are comfortably positioned as the #1 and #2 in the market. With the former represented by 3-time Ryder Cup Captain, Bernard Gallacher, who is utilised throughout their extensive marketing campaign, Golf Care in particular has experienced exceptional growth in recent years.

Part of this success can be attributed toa landmark court case in November 2011 that saw a golfer awarded a staggering £400,000 in damages after being struck by a wayward shot that cost him the sight in one eye. The case reverberated throughout the industry, as the sport of golf no longer acknowledged the shouting of ‘fore’ as a means of relinquishing blame for causing damage to another player and/or property.

The company’s unrivalled success has led to the development and expansion of their ‘complete’ sport portfolio, highlighted by the introduction of Insure4Sport, an insurance product for sports coaches, individuals and teams. The product has thrived in recent years given the growing number of sporting injuries and thefts taking place. As part of her role in driving sales over the next couple of years, Hughes will work with The JRW Group on the continued development of Insure4Sport as well as the launch of several other exciting new products.

“Charlotte will play a key role as The JRW Group continues to branch out into new niche markets. Her appointment speaks volumes for the company in terms of our commitment to growing our portfolio of products outside of golf,” noted John Woosey, Managing Director, The JRW Group. “Charlotte is one of several new employees who we have sought the expertise of in the last couple of months As a vastly experienced insurance professional outside of sports, we believe she will undoubtedly add an extra dimension to our general approach and significantly improve company processes. Her level of customer service is second-to-none and she will set a precedent for others within the company.”

At Carole Nash, Hughes was also responsible for the development of new projects, in terms of how they would be deployed and run within the call centre, in order to make sure of their success after the initial launch phase. An NVQ in Insurance and IFC1 and IFC2, proved a valuable tool early in her career and she will be keen to encourage training to ensure call centres are trained to the highest possible standard. This will be done alongside the company’s commitment to raising KPI standards, which Hughes has identified as an integral way of investing in the company to ensure higher levels of service.

“I’m excited to join what is a fast growing and extremely ambitious company and having not worked in this sector before I hope to bring some fresh new ideas and strategies to The JRW Group,” commented Hughes“I can’t wait to get started and believe that the success of the company’s existing portfolio will hold us in good stead as we venture into new markets.”
