Golf England appoints agency

9.00am 21st May 2002 - Corporate

Golf England, recently formed to generate financial and administrative benefits to golf clubs and to provide funds to develop and promote golf in the UK, has appointed the specialist sports agency S2 to its PR account.

S2 was awarded the business for its established reputation in the golf industry. “We are very pleased to be working with Golf England,” said Angus Macdonald, S2 account director. “Our focus is to develop and implement a communications plan targeted at the golfing community.

“Golf England is a unique programme that has been established to generate funds for the amateur game of golf. Our role is to ensure this message is understood by the golf market and to help Golf England to realise its full potential throughout the country.”

“S2 has an understanding of the golf industry that is second to none,” commented Dale Clements, marketing director for Golf England “They join our team at a very exciting time for Golf England. Already 200 clubs are enjoying the benefits of the group-buying scheme, and they will shortly see computer terminals and card reader systems installed in their clubhouses at no cost to them. S2 will play an important role in communicating the success and growth of the venture as new clubs take part.”

S2’s brief, which starts with immediate effect, will further spread the word to golf clubs, golfers and corporate partners, as well as raising the profile of Golf England by marketing it to a wider audience.
