Cobra’s resurgence is reaping rewards with sales up 26% on last year

Ever since Cobra announced the return of the ‘King Cobra’ brand name in November last year, the Acushnet owned brand, famed for producing high quality game improvement clubs, has seen an impressive upturn in fortune.

The new King Cobra range of products, led by the big hitting King Cobra SS 370 driver, has proved a real hit with retailers and consumers alike.

The early season signs were very encouraging with rapid sell-through, high praise from the equipment experts and lots of satisfied customers. The half year UK sales figures substantiate this success with invoiced sales and orders in house up an impressive 26%. Nick Tempest, Cobra’s UK sales director is naturally delighted. “This is a very exciting time for the brand,” he said. ”We have barely been able to build drivers quick enough, the demand has been so high and the great thing is that the rest of the range is also selling through extremely well.”

The King Cobra range has been highly visible both in the media and in store, catching the attention of the golfing public. As John Peal, Cobra’s European director of marketing explains, “The feedback we are getting from our retail partners is that the King Cobra range has really struck a chord with the golfing public. It’s a well known and well loved brand name and the current range of products is delivering outstanding performance at a great pricepoint for the everyday golfer.”
