Sports giant, adidas-Salomon is currently involved in a search for an agency to support its European golf division, TaylorMade adidas Golf.
Following a comprehensive internal restructure of its marketing function, the company is streamlining its agency support by looking for one pan-European agency.
Until recently the advertising account was split between three media buying agencies with two further agencies handling production. For 2002, one agency will be expected to handle the adaptation of US-generated creative, the production, and – most significantly – the media buying across Europe.
TaylorMade adidas Golf, has invited two of its current agencies to re-pitch for the whole business. Leagas Delaney and specialist golf buying group European Tour Productions both presented their cases at the Première Golf Show in Marbella last month. In addition, TaylorMade’s US agency, Foote Cone & Belding has pitched to handle the European account.
A decision is due this week.
