Advanced fabrics from Callaway

Callaway Golf apparel has showcased the Spring Summer ’08 collection at a fashion show hosted by the Langdon Hills Golf Club and Country Club in Essex. The new men’s and ladies’ collections combine bold colour stories with technologically advanced fabrics to deliver high quality styling for all golfers, both on and off the course.

In the men’s ranges, X-Series remains at the cutting edge of the brand’s technological offering, combining all elements of the Callaway Golf Performance Centre (DrysportTM, WindsportTM and WarmsportTM), with contemporary style and design. Spring Summer ’08, sees the introduction of two new colour stories – ‘Torrent’ combines soft blue, lime green, black and white, while ‘Adrenaline’ incorporates black, white, green and pale blue.

Charlie Casson, men’s product manager, says, “The X Series is now our best selling range, demonstrating an increased consumer demand for more technologically advanced lifestyle apparel. Modern – Traditional is the future of the brand, hence there will always be a place in our collection for more classic styles, colours and fabrics but it is the more technical garments that are causing a real stir. Comfort performance in all weather conditions is key and our ’08 collections really deliver on this.”

The Sport range leans more to classic tastes and appeals to the consumer who embraces an active lifestyle. Combining innovative designs with cotton performance fabrics, the Spring Summer ’08 range delivers two new colour stories. ‘Geneva’ cleverly combines 7 strong colours – spectrum yellow, sun pink, pale blue, orange sun, navy and white while ‘Valis’ incorporates black, pale blue, orange and white. Both ranges combine bold colour blocks with updated traditional stripes, offering a diverse array of designs to suit a wide spectrum of tastes.

The new season introduces three new colour stories to the ladies’ collection – ‘St Tropez’, ‘Monaco’ and ‘Biarritz’. Jo Ettrick, ladies product manager, says, “The new colour stories are fantastic with strong lines, technological fabrics and exquisite designs combining to produce our most exciting collection to date. Ladies are demanding Comfort Performance and this is where the brand certainly delivers. Many of the new garments utilise the unique Callaway Golf apparel DrySport™ technology which offers UV protection and moisture control in warm weather. This contributes to comfort and therefore performance.”

‘St Tropez’ combines navy, bluebell, st tropez, remy and white, while ‘Monaco’ incorporates nice, monaco, citrone, white and black. The third collection – ‘Biarritz’, introduces sunkist coral, green, spectrum yellow, white and navy.

Performance and luxury fabrications, including elegant pima cotton and performance microfibre polyester, combine to produce a range which sets the industry standard in ladies’ lifestyle fashion. A full range of garments are available across the collection including skorts, trousers, tailored polo shirts, sweaters, windshirts, visors and caps.
