Hoddle’s on the spot to open upgraded kitchens at Northamptonshire County

Northamptonshire County Golf Club, a Top 100 Course and Open Regional Qualifying venue, has completed a major kitchen refurbishment that will ensure the continued production of high-quality catering that is more environmentally friendly whilst improving the workspace for kitchen staff.

Costing £200,000, the kitchen area, which was officially reopened earlier this month by former England international footballer and manager Glen Hoddle, has seen a complete refit, with the installation of new extraction system, rational ovens, cold room, together with new work tops, sinks, and storage solutions, creating more space and easier access to all the cooking stations.

The all-electric powered kitchen will serve to reduce energy usage and the club’s environmental footprint and impact in the coming years. Additional climate friendly initiatives are already planned for this year as part of an ongoing plan to reduce reliance on existing more expensive power sources.

Rob Griffiths, Northamptonshire County’s General Manager, commented: “The difference this refurbishment is already making is remarkable. We have created a work-friendly environment that has more room, increased storage, and easier to clean surfaces and a quieter extraction system that is more energy efficient and provides a much better environment for the staff in the kitchen.

“To be able to reduce our environmental impact and manage energy use more efficiently has to be the way forward and this is the first step in a series of initiatives planned for the future.”

Partnering with local company, Midlands Catering Projects, which sourced all of the fixtures and conducted the installation, the seven-week project has also seen complete refurbishment of walls and flooring and ceiling, creating a lighter, airier workspace. 3S Northampton completed a full electrical refit and worked seamlessly with MCP.

The newly refurbished kitchen is now well placed to cater for the influx of players and guests expected when Open Regional Qualifying takes place at the course in June.
