Bunker Mentality one of Europe’s most fashionable golf clothing brands are taking to the golf course wearing jeans. Normally a very big “no no” for many golf clubs, the clothing brand are not looking to create a revolution, but to raise money for charity. Brand Director Robert Hart explains: “I read an advert for a charity asking people to do something ‘extraordinary’ in jeans and straight away, I knew playing golf would fit the bill.”
The brand has arranged a round of golf on 18th of September at the Nottinghamshire Golf Club on behalf of the ‘Jeans for Genes’ charity. As Bunker Mentality don’t make their own jeans (yet) they reached out to another well-known Nottinghamshire clothing brand, Paul Smith who have agreed to supply jeans for all players on 18th September.
Hart continues, “I thought there may be some resistance to this idea amongst the more traditional golfers, but so far we’ve had a great reaction. Paul Smith are the perfect partner for us as their jeans are top quality, which is in keeping with our brand’s DNA. The Nottinghamshire Golf Club, which is a very modern and forward thinking club are also delighted to be part of this charity day.”
Jeans for Genes Day invites everyone across the UK, from nurseries and schools to companies and individuals, to wear their jeans for the Day in return for a small donation. This golf day will certainly be one to remember for all concerned.
Jeans for Genes Day raises money for Genetic Disorders UK, the charity that aims to transform the lives of children with genetic disorders. Funds raised will go to the vital care and support they urgently need. 1 in 25 children in the UK are born with a genetic disorder – that’s more than 30,000 babies diagnosed each year. There are more than 6,000 genetic disorders
