Southwest Greens International, a leader in synthetic golf systems, has announced a strategic alliance with Troon Golf, the world’s largest golf management company.
The use of synthetic turf in golf applications has experienced explosive growth over the last several years due to its ability to fulfill a need in areas where it is difficult for courses to create and maintain quality solutions using natural turf.
Through this strategic alliance, Troon will have access to Southwest Greens’ engineered product line including everything from Nicklaus Design/Golden Bear premium grade synthetic turf to a proprietary “Pro System” installation process. In addition, Southwest Greens will offer an engineered line of products for erosion control and stabilization for high-traffic and troublesome areas of the course such as golf cart paths, lake banks, swales, channels and outfall structures.
Southwest Greens Construction will be responsible for servicing the needs of Troon’s portfolio. SWG Construction was launched as an exclusive strategic partner of Southwest Greens International in 2008 specifically to address the commercial service needs of the golf construction industry. It has since then completed an impressive portfolio of world-class projects, including but not limited to the Jiva Hill Golf Course in Crozet, France, and Club Med on the island of Mauritius just to name a few.
“We are very pleased to create this strategic relationship with Troon Golf,” said Kevin Holinaty, President of Southwest Greens Construction. “They are truly a world-class organization and we see a lot of benefit our product line can bring to their premium level golf course clients around the world. Our golf solutions are of the highest quality and have certainly taken traction in the golf course sector, having successfully completed works in some of Europe’s top golf clubs. We are excited as well to be launching our new range of erosion control products. Being engineered products, there has been a lot of extensive testing completed on their effectiveness and we see those providing real tangible solutions.”
Bruce Glasco, Vice-President and Managing Director, Troon International Operations commented, “The golf industry needs innovative solutions in the development sector of the market to help evolve business models and ultimately make them more sustainable for owners and developers. Our new partnership with Southwest Greens is an example of how Troon is looking at new technologies and how they can be integrated at an operations level to enhance the end product and positively impact businesses. The technology and expertise Southwest Greens has and their ability to seamlessly integrate unique products, means we can offset challenges and limitations of using traditional turf in properties who experience harsher climates and more challenging agronomy management. This will result in more effective management and more beneficial business practices.”
