‘Good buggies, good prices, good fun:‘ after the success of their last auction in September, Mox is holding another one on 19th November at their Banbury office. And judging by the number of clubs that came to bid at the last auction, Mox is expecting quite a few more golf clubs to find out how easy it can be to drive away with a bargain buggy or two.
A record number of bidders came to Mox’s September auction, including for the first time a healthy number of golf clubs. 297 buggies were up for sale, comprising mostly 2-seaters, but also plenty of multi-seaters and utility buggies. 29 registered bidders bought 90% of the stock, in one case a bidder bought 38 lots, and of the 297 buggies in the auction, 268 units were sold, another record for Mox and indeed for Manheim, the UK’s leading transportation auctioneer.
Great bargains to be had
Mox’s general manager Iain Belton was delighted with the results of the auction. “With nearly 300 lots for sale, it looked a tall order, but as the bidders started to register in the weeks preceding the auction date, we became increasingly confident of success,” he said. “The auction in September proved to be the best yet, and I was especially pleased to see a decent number of golf clubs being represented.
“We’re proving that there are certainly bargains to be had, and clubs are starting to realise that Mox’s auctions are an excellent way to acquire buggies at prices significantly lower than retail. So we’re going to be running another auction in the second half of November, and while the number of buggies offered will be less than previously, for clubs looking to increase or replace their fleets, this will be a great opportunity.”
Mox is looking to sell 100-150 two-seater golf buggies. They are all ex-lease, various top brands, mostly 3-4 years old, and generally well looked after. All will be ‘sold as seen’ but that, of course, is reflected in the prices, so the advice from Mox is to come and check out the buggies on the morning of the auction, and your club could go away with a bargain.
Bidding will start at 11am. For more details or to register for a copy of the catalogue:
