Nike distance ball for lady golfers

8.00am 10th July 2006 - Corporate

Nike Golf is making its entry in the women’s golf ball category for the first time with the new Power Lady golf ball, the “sister” of Nike Golf’s new Power Distance Power Series.
Seeing the growth potential in the women’s segment, Nike Golf has created the Power Distance Power Lady with a low compression core and softened ionomer cover resulting in one of the softest women’s ball in the market. The added carry and softer feel of the Power Lady allows a wider range of swing speeds to optimise distance performance and maximise scoring opportunities.
“This is an important step for us in our golf ball category,” said Sander van Rijn, European product line manager for Nike Golf balls. “We are seeing phenomenal success and growth opportunities in our women’s apparel and footwear business, and are inspired to expand this run in our ball and equipment categories.”
Featuring a 432 dimple pattern, the Power Lady helps to produce higher trajectory shots while optimising velocity and distance through its low compression core. Available in stores now, the Power Lady feels good, acts right, and more importantly, will bring greater confidence to women, who strive to improve and enjoy the game at the highest level.
The Power Lady is the newest addition to the Power Distance family that includes the Super Far, Super Fly and Super Soft that were introduced by Nike Golf in 2002 and 2003.

The Power Lady will carry a suggested retail price of £16, €25, SEK 229/dz and is available at golf shops across Europe, Middle East and Africa now.
