Club Car has already been the official golf car for the Ryder Cup for almost 10 years and this year at the Belfry will be no exception. Club Car fleets can be found at the last two European Ryder Cup venues, The Belfry and Valderrama, and at The K Club and Celtic Manor where the Ryder Cup will take place in 2006 and 2010 respectively.
“We are proud to be the official car for the Ryder Cup,” said Kevin Hart, Club Car’s business development manager for UK, Ireland, Middle East and Africa, “and delighted to be forging close links with such illustrious venues who demand nothing but the best from their suppliers in terms of quality, efficiency and long lasting value.”
Celtic Manor, hosts of the 2010 Ryder Cup, have recently agreed a new deal for 27 golf cars plus two Villager people transporters, securing a 110 strong golf car fleet and further cementing a relationship which stretches back to 1995. Jim McKenzie, director of golf at Celtic Manor, is delighted to be continuing with Club Car. “We want to work with the best suppliers across the whole spectrum of golf course products and Club Car are certainly the leaders in their field. As a future Ryder Cup venue it makes perfect sense to have a partnership with the official Ryder Cup golf car”.
The new order at Celtic Manor is for Club Car’s new IQ DS model. The IQ system controls vehicle speed, acceleration and braking to maximise driver comfort and safety. These performance characteristics can be simply programmed into each vehicle by the course operator and can be changed easily if required. In addition, IQ continually monitors system components and conditions to provide full diagnostic capability. Other exclusive Club Car features include a totally rust proof, lightweight all aluminium frame and an Armorflex® body that greatly reduces exterior maintenance.
Based in Augusta, Georgia, Club Car is part of worldwide Ingersoll-Rand.
