Martin Slumbers To Step Down

Today’s Top Story is undoubtedly the news that Martin Slumbers is to step down as CEO of The R&A. This will happen at the end of 2024 when he will have served in the role for nine years. There have already been many tributes from around the world.

Doug Poole, CEO of The UK Golf Federation, told GBN, “I believe he bought a new vision to golf and its way forward. He did a great job through the Covid period where he helped communicate between golf’s stakeholders and Government in getting golf opened for play as one of the first sports back in action.”
