The National Golf Foundation’s latest research on golf participation trends in the US reveal that interest in the game is continuing to grow at record levels, with 2024 on track to be the fifth consecutive year where more than 500 million rounds of golf will be played across the 50 states.

The R&A has announced new participation figures that show an increase of more than 3 million adult golfers playing the sport in R&A affiliated markets over a 12-month period from 2022-23.

The average monthly number of rounds of golf played per course in England, Wales and Scotland dropped to an average 1,385 for the first three months of 2024, representing a 14% decrease on the same period last year
