Verdura Resort Is The Perfect Fit For PGA Germany

8.30am 16th December 2020 - Travel

German golfers will now have improved access to Verdura Resort, a Rocco Forte Hotel, after a new partnership with the PGA of Germany.

As part of the two-year agreement, the fabulous five-star resort – home of the European Tour’s Rocco Forte Sicilian Open – will be a host venue for the German PGA’s annual training camp where the golfers will be able to make full use of the state-of-the-art facilities.

But amateur golfers will also enjoy the benefits of a trip to Sicily with club members able to enjoy professional-led coaching breaks at discounted rates. Pros stay free when accompanied by six guests, while five green fees are included when staying for seven nights. Buggies are also included during the low season.

Aside from the superb Kyle Phillips-designed Championship course and the nine-hole par-three Executive course, the resort’s second 18-hole layout reopens next summer following a major redesign and renovation programme.

In addition, the practice facilities are the envy of many European resorts with a double-ended driving range and first-class academy. The venue also features Italy’s only European Tour-approved Performance Institute, where players of all abilities can hone their swings using cutting-edge technology.

Verdura director of golf, Antonio Castello, said: “It’s an exciting partnership for us and a real opportunity to increase our profile even more in a country, which has a proud tradition of producing some of the world’s best golfers. We are sure this will be a successful partnership and will enable us to welcome many more guests from Germany in the coming years.”

Felix Lechner, head of marketing at the German PGA, said: “Verdura Resort is a venue which is rightly-recognised as one of the world’s elite golf and lifestyle destinations. It is a fantastic location with superb courses and exceptional facilities and is why it is a preferred training base for PGA members.”

Nestled in 230 hectares of stunning Mediterranean landscape on Sicily’s southern coast, Verdura is a member of the exclusive European Tour Destinations network. The resort is famous for offering guests an unforgettable five-star golf experience in one of the most beautiful settings in world golf and was recently named as a recipient of Golf Digest magazine’s coveted ‘2020 Editors’ Choice Award for the Best Resorts in Continental Europe’ for the fifth year in a row.

Verdura Resort features 203 rooms and suites, all with a sea view, which offer a perfect solution for family holiday. In addition, the venue is set to add to its luxury accommodation portfolio by opening in 2021 twenty new modern and spacious private Rocco Forte Villas, each with its own private swimming pool and affording unparalled panoramic views of the Sicilian coast and Mediterranean.

Away from golf, guests can enjoy an extensive array of other luxury sports and lifestyle facilities, as well as the opportunity to sample a wide variety of gastronomy, wine, history and culture.

Packages are bookable through SAM Golf Time, which is also a partner of the PGA of Germany.
