September marks one year to go until the Ryder Cup returns to Ireland, with Adare Manor set to welcome the world’s top golfers and thousands of fans for one of the biggest sporting events ever staged on the island.
Tourism Ireland is marking the 12-month countdown by placing a renewed focus on Ireland as one of the world’s leading golf destinations.
Following the success of The Open Championship at Royal Portrush in 2025, the spotlight remains firmly on the island of Ireland as it hosts a remarkable run of top golf events over the coming year – building excitement and momentum towards the Ryder Cup.
After the KPMG Women’s Irish Open was played from August 27-30 on the Palmer South Course at The K Club in County Kildare, showcasing many of the world’s leading players, attention turns to County Clare where the 51st Walker Cup will be staged at the iconic Lahinch Golf Club from September 5-6 – the first time the historic amateur team competition has been hosted at Lahinch.
Just days later, the Amgen Irish Open will take place from September 10-13 at Trump International Golf Links Doonbeg, bringing many of world’s biggest stars to Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way.
Together, the three events will provide an exceptional showcase for Irish golf and serve as the perfect springboard into Ryder Cup year.
