The International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) will set the stage for Oceânico Golf to share further details on its new ownership structure and the vision to advance the appeal of golf in the Algarve.

The Victoria Clube de Golfe, designed by the late great Arnold Palmer and the ten year host venue to The Portugal Masters, sits alongside the Old Course Clube de Golf, Pinhal Clube de Golfe, Laguna Clube de Golfe and Millennium Clube de Golfe. Each play a pivotal role in completing the Oceânico Golf portfolio and play a major part in the success of the Algarve’s position as one of Europe’s best-loved golfing destinations. The new ownership group comprises strategic investment from KAY CC Portugal, a partnership between Mr. Keith Cousins and the Dom Pedro Hotels Group, who recently acquired Oceânico Golf from The Oceânico Group.

“The IGTM gives us a chance to connect with our valued partners and look to the coming years’ business,” commented Mr Luis Correia da Silva – Oceânico Golf, CEO. “This year we have much to share, especially with our new ownership structure and fresh vision to invest in the portfolio to further enhance the consumer experience. Each year, the IGTM allows us to collectively evaluate the past year’s performance and look at new ideas to continue Oceânico Golf’s appeal as the golf destination of choice for many of Europe’s golf travellers.”

Taking place in Mallorca from November 14 to 17, IGTM will welcome leading Tour Operators and members of the international golf travel trade. Oceânico Golf will be exhibiting as part of The Algarve Tourism Board stand, where its sales and marketing staff will be on hand to conduct one-to-one meetings with existing and prospective trade partners.

“The key for our team is to reconnect with our trade partners and share in person the excitement that surrounds the new ownership structure of the five headline Vilamoura courses and outline the most efficient next steps to grow our partnership impact,” said Mr Luis Correia da Silva. “We will also be presenting new combined golf and accommodation packages and announcing the launch of our new website with improved online booking facilities as we continuously strive to improve and keep up with the modern day consumer trends. We take our position as a leading stakeholder in the Algarve Tourism sector extremely seriously and will support the wider destination’s efforts to stimulate inbound tourism investment and continue to grow its market share.”

Oceânico Golf recently hosted The 10th Portugal Masters, which played a major part in celebrating the 50th Anniversary for golf in the Algarve. It was fitting that Major Champion, Ryder Cup legend and friend of Oceânico Golf, Padraig Harrington claimed his first title in eight years.

Oceânico’s team will be available at stand D23, with details on rates and package options for the 2017 season and beyond.
