The Indoor Golf Alliance, the recently launched trade association of the global indoor golf industry, has announced the launch of IGA University, the indoor golf industry’s first comprehensive education and professional development platform.

Built to unify training, certification, and business education in one place, IGA University is designed to elevate professionalism and establish clear industry standards as the indoor golf sector continues its rapid global growth.

IGA University brings together video-based courses, live webinars and masterclasses, downloadable templates and operational guides, skills assessments, and a peer community – creating a single, trusted home for anyone building a career or a business in indoor golf.

“Indoor golf has grown faster than the resources available to support it,” said Phil Immordino, founder of the Indoor Golf Alliance. “IGA University closes that gap. We’re giving operators, instructors, and technicians the structured, credible education this industry has never had — the kind of foundation that PGA Education has long provided for traditional golf.”

IGA University is designed to serve facility owners and operators, entrepreneurs entering the industry, simulator manufacturers and software companies, instructors and coaches, event managers and league organisers, hospitality and food-and-beverage teams, and traditional golf course operators expanding into indoor golf.

Five Professional Certifications

At the centre of the platform are a range of official, IGA-issued certifications spanning the core disciplines of the industry:

  • Indoor Golf Business Professional (IGBP) — business models, revenue strategy, marketing, and customer acquisition
  • Indoor Golf Operations Specialist (IGOS) — daily operations, troubleshooting, league management, and facility workflow
  • Indoor Golf Technology & Simulator Technician (IGTT) — launch monitor technology, setup, calibration, and maintenance
  • Indoor Golf Events & Groups Manager Certification (IGEM) — event planning, corporate outings, group sales, and sponsorships
  • Indoor Golf Instructor Certification (IGIC) — developed with teaching professionals for coaching in simulator environments

Each certification is supported by a full curriculum covering business and entrepreneurship, technology and product training, operations and facility management, events and corporate sales, and player development and instruction.

Beyond coursework, IGA University will offer a resource library that includes marketing kits, sample business plans, event checklists, staff handbooks, and standard operating procedures. Course content is developed with a faculty of industry CEOs, technology partners, facility designers, teaching professionals, and marketing experts.

IGA University will extend beyond the online platform with in-person certification workshops, training sessions at the PGA Show, regional IGA Roadshow events, and an annual Indoor Golf University Summit.

“Our long-term vision is simple,” added Immordino. “We want IGA University to become the official, internationally recognized training standard for indoor golf – the PGA Education for our industry.”

IGA University is now open for early access to indoor golf professionals and businesses. More information is available at www.indoorgolfalliance.org/iga-university/
