Fitzpatrick, Lowry and MacIntyre join stellar BMW PGA Championship field

The BMW PGA Championship offers a thrilling week of world-class golf, a star-studded Celebrity Pro-Am, live entertainment on the Amazon Leo Live Stage – including weekend headline acts The Kooks and Ella Eyre - and much more in the atmospheric Spectator Village

Major winners Matt Fitzpatrick and Shane Lowry and their European Ryder Cup teammate Robert MacIntyre are set to tee it up at the BMW PGA Championship from September 17-20, 2026, with tickets for the Festival of Golf selling fast.

Lowry will join an impressive line-up of former winners at Wentworth Club, including career grand slam winner Rory McIlroy, newly-crowned Open champion Ryan Fox, defending champion Alex Noren, two-time winner Billy Horschel and five-time Rolex Series winner Tyrrell Hatton.

The field also includes English Major champions Justin Rose and Aaron Rai, European Ryder Cup stars Tommy Fleetwood, Ludvig Åberg and Sepp Straka and another home favourite in three-time DP World Tour winner Marco Penge.

Lowry, who counts the 2019 Open Championship among his six DP World Tour titles, sealed victory at the BMW PGA Championship in 2022. The Irishman has an impressive record over the famous West Course, with a further four top tens and 11 top twenty finishes since his debut in 2010.

The three-time Ryder Cup player said: “I always enjoy coming back to the BMW PGA Championship. It’s a course where I’ve played well over the years and my win in 2022 was really special, so I’m looking forward to getting back to Wentworth in September.”

World Number Four and home favourite Fitzpatrick will be aiming to become the first Englishman since Hatton in 2020 to triumph at the BMW PGA Championship. The 2022 U.S. Open winner has been in impressive form, with three victories and a further five top tens on the PGA TOUR this season.

The ten-time DP World Tour winner and four-time Ryder Cup player, who has recorded two Rolex Series victories, said: “The BMW PGA Championship is a great event, and it gets better every year. We always get such a warm welcome and I would love to lift the trophy in front of my home fans.”

Four-time DP World Tour winner MacIntyre joined Fitzpatrick and Lowry in the historic back-to-back Ryder Cup wins in Rome in 2023 and New York last year. The Scot, who claimed Rolex Series glory on home soil two years ago, has also won twice on the PGA TOUR. He returns for his eighth consecutive appearance at the BMW PGA Championship.

MacIntyre said: “I’ve played the BMW PGA Championship every year since I joined the DP World Tour, so it’s definitely one that I enjoy coming back to. It’s shaping up to be another great event this year, so I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do over the West Course.”

Taking place just outside Central London, the BMW PGA Championship offers a thrilling week of world-class golf, a star-studded Celebrity Pro-Am, live entertainment on the Amazon Leo Live Stage – including weekend headline acts The Kooks and Ella Eyre – and much more in the atmospheric Spectator Village.

BMW Group owners will once again receive preferred parking benefits and there will be a free shuttle service from Virginia Water railway station available to all spectators.

Following record attendance last season, over 115,000 spectators are set to gather for a true Festival of Golf, and fans are urged to secure their tickets early to avoid disappointment. General Admission tickets are already sold out for Saturday, with limited availability on Friday and Sunday. General Admission is the only option still remaining on Friday, with Treetops presented by Buffalo Trace and all Premium Experience options completely sold out.

The Green on 18 Premium Experience option is sold out across the week, and Treetops presented by Buffalo Trace is sold out Thursday to Sunday with limited availability on Wednesday.
