Basingstoke to host 2027 Girls’ & Boys’ Home Internationals

Hampshire club to host leading young players from across GB&I for major competition just a year after official opening its new-look course.

Basingstoke Golf Club has been selected to host the 2027 Girls’ and Boys’ Home Internationals, representing a significant milestone for the club and an opportunity to welcome some of the most talented junior golfers in Great Britain and Ireland.

Taking place from August 2-5, 2027, the Home Internationals will bring together the leading young players from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, with the home nations competing over three days in a combined team format that showcases the very best emerging talent in the game.

The announcement is key recognition for Basingstoke and its new facilities following a recent £20 million transformation and comes just weeks after the Hampshire club’s redesigned course was officially opened by Ian Woosnam and Charley Hull.

David Green, general manager of Basingstoke Golf Club, added: “The Home Internationals consistently showcase some of the brightest talents in amateur golf, many of whom go on to achieve great success in the professional game. We are thrilled to be welcoming players, officials, families and spectators to Basingstoke in 2027 and are committed to delivering a memorable championship experience for everyone involved.”

Organised by The R & A, the Girls’ and Boys’ Home Internationals has quickly established itself as a highlight of the junior golfing calendar since the introduction of the combined girls’ and boys’ format in 2022.

England Golf championships director James Crampton said: “Basingstoke has been selected to host the 2027 Boys’ & Girls’ Home Internationals in recognition of its exceptional facilities, forward-thinking redevelopment, and dedication to supporting the next generation of golfers. England Golf is confident the club will provide a superb stage for one of junior golf’s most important team competitions.

“The Home Internationals are a great opportunity for spectators to witness some of the upcoming stars of the game from GB&I, with the likes of Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose and Lottie Woad having competed in previous editions of the event.”
