AquatrolsIn honour of its founder, Aquatrols has continued its support of the Aquatrols Robert A. Moore Endowment Fund with a $10,000 donation to the Environmental Institute for Golf (EIFG), the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA).

Moore, who was a strong advocate for GCSAA until his passing in 2010, founded Aquatrols in 1955. He was a GCSAA member for more than 50 years and had articles published in the association’s flagship publication, Golf Course Management, beginning in 1957. The endowment in his name funds research specifically aimed at optimizing the growing environment for golf course turf, with specific goals for increasing the effectiveness of applied water, fertilizers and pesticides, thereby reducing total requirements.

Moore’s daughters, Tracy Jarman and Demie Moore, and son Andy Moore, all with Aquatrols, made the donation in honour of their father during the 2014 Golf Industry Show in Orlando.

“The Robert A. Moore Endowment fund recognizes Bob’s legacy and Aquatrols’ ongoing commitment to further improving sustainable management of the growing environment,” GCSAA and EIFG CEO Rhett Evans said. “For nearly six decades, GCSAA and our members have benefited from the work of Bob Moore and Aquatrols.”

Aquatrols is a supporter of the EIFG at the Platinum Tee Club level, which designates donors who contribute $5,000 or more annually. Aquatrols is also recognized at the Presidential Club level in the EIFG cumulative giving program for donating between $100,000 and $249,999 since 1987.

“As the company that invented and pioneered the use of soil wetting agents in the turf and ornamental industry worldwide, our family and Aquatrols as a whole have always had a vision that extends beyond product sales,” said Jarman, Aquatrols president and CEO. “Aquatrols is changing the way the world grows. We are committed to developing technologies that promote more efficient, effective and environmentally sound use of water and other inputs.

“Considering that Dad was in applied research before starting Aquatrols, and with applied research and development still central to Aquatrols’ mission, the establishment of a research endowment fund is a fitting way to give back to the industry and to recognize and remember the contributions he and Aquatrols have made.”
